USA Trip 2009

In this short post I wanted to share some of the 6000+ images I have taken during a trip to the USA last October. The trip led me (and my wife) to 10 different states including Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, Louisiana, Missouri and California.

Recently we went for another trip to the city. Taking the ferry from our new place really makes even the trip an event. Anyway, we ended up in Sydneys beautiful Royal Botanical Gardens.

Spring Finance > Part 7: Adding support for JSON and XML views

It has been a while since I have updated the Spring Finance Manager sample application so I thought it’s time to do it now. Since my last article a few of the dependencies have cut new milestone releases.

Aside from just updating the dependencies I also added a new feature the Spring Finance Manager application: content negotiation for XML and json.

Trip to La Perouse & Maroubra, Sydney

Two weeks back we went for a trip to Sydneys southern beaches. First we headed towards the airport where we took a stroll in the Sir Joseph banks park where they have beatiful ducks and then we went on to La Perouse and Maroubra Beach. Apart from the driving there the trip was very nice.

Sydney by Night

Since I have my new Tamron AF17-50mm F/2.8 Di-II LD Aspherical lens and the new Dolica Tripod I went out and took some night shots of the city. I think, both, the lens and the tripod were a good choice .

Trip to Watsons Bay, Sydney

Last weekend we did a day trip to Watsons Bay here in Sydney. We took the ferry from Abbotsford to Circular Quay and then another Ferry from Circular Quay to Watsons Bay. Click the article to see more pictures!

Spring Finance > Part 6: Spring Security 3.0 Integration

Now that Spring Security 3.0.0.M1 has been released it’s time for me to continue with the Spring Finance Manager sample application series.

This article demonstrates how to use Spring Security to protect the sample application in it’s different layers. Furthermore, this article illustrates how to use the new expression language (EL) features introduced in this first milestone release of Spring Security 3.

Introducing Spring Roo: Part 2 – Security, JMS & Email support

Illegal access attempts or even DoS attacks and other security threats should be taken seriously. As a result we have come up with a solution which detects such malicious behavior and notified administrators accordingly.

This blog post outlines the solution to this problem by making use of two new Spring Roo add-ons we have included into today’s Spring Roo 1.0.0.M1 release.
