This weekend we went to the Tennis Centre in Sydney Olympic Park. They had a ‘special’ where you can enter the outside tennis courts for free.  I took this as an opportunity to try my new Canon 50D for some sports motives. And it turned out that my all purpose lens (the new 18-200mm IS lens from Canon which I bought in a kit together with the body) does allow for some great shots.

As you can see the weather was great if not a little hot. After all the outside court matches finsished we decided to take a sneak peek through the doors of the main stadium where there was a top match between Serena Williams and Samantha Stosur was on. After a few shots through the doors glass windows we were actually allowed in by a very nice door guard. Once in, we decided to stay on for another two games and had great fun watching the players and taking a lot of pictures.

Overall, I can only recommend anyone with interest in Tennis to go to next years free day of the Medibank International in Sydney Olympic Park. We will be there, for sure!
